Yeou Yih Steel, one of the major stainless steel heavy plate producers in Taiwan said that it realized sales revenues of NT$333 million in December, soaring by 21.1% from a month ago but falling by 23.39% year on year. The company stated that its shipping volumes and selling prices have both increased in December, helping to earn profits. However, Yeou Yih Steel’s sales revenues for the fourth quarter of 2012 decreased by 6.7% from a quarter ago to NT$943 million, affected by sharply dropped nickel prices in November. For the prospect, Yeou Yih Steel expected that its sales profits would rise in the January after the upstream stainless steel producers announced to hike prices for January.
